Chainsaw Man Cosplay: Denji, Power and Makima Looks Built From a Shirt, a Tie and the Right Wig

Chainsaw Man is the cheapest major anime cosplay you can do well, and the reason is structural: Public Safety devil hunters wear office clothes. A white dress shirt, a black tie and black trousers is most of Denji, most of Power and most of Makima. Almost nobody recognises the outfit — they recognise the hair. That is why a Chainsaw Man costume is a wig decision with a wardrobe attached, and why it can be done for well under the price of a full character costume set. Below is what each character actually wears, which pieces we stock live right now (and, just as usefully, which we do not), and how to get the fit and the timing right. What Do Chainsaw Man Characters Actually Wear?

Strip the series down to buyable parts and it is short:

• Denji. White dress shirt, black tie, black trousers, often a black suit jacket over it. Short, choppy, bright blond hair. The identifying detail is not clothing at all — it is the pull-cord at his chest.
• Power. The same Public Safety shirt-and-tie, worn badly on purpose. Long, messy pink-blonde hair, two short pale horns, cross-shaped pupils. The horns and the hair carry the whole read.
• Makima. White shirt, black tie, black suit trousers. Red-auburn hair in a low braided ponytail, and ringed eyes. She is the most "just office clothes" character in the cast.
• Aki Hayakawa. Black suit, black tie, straight black hair to the jaw. If you already own a black suit, Aki is a fifteen-minute costume.
• Quanxi. Long silver-white hair, eyepatch, dark suit. The silhouette is entirely in the hair.

Notice what is missing: armour, capes, prosthetics, custom-cut fabric. Four of those five looks are a shirt, a tie and a wig. That is unusual for a shonen series, and it is the reason Chainsaw Man consistently shows up at conventions on tight budgets.

The Wig Is the Costume

Because the clothes are generic, the hair is doing all of the identification work. Get the hair right and people name your character across a room in a plain shirt. Get it wrong and you are a person in office clothes.

What we have live today, honestly stated:

• The Chainsaw Man cosplay wig — $17.99. The listing is written for the whole cast, but the colourway that is actually orderable right now is the White style: a silver-white wig, short and fringed at the front with a long tail falling past the shoulder. That is the Quanxi silhouette, and it is the cheapest Chainsaw Man wig in the shop by a wide margin. If the character you want is Quanxi, stop reading and buy this one.
• Power — the Solid Color Cosplay Wig in pink, $30.79. Roughly 90 cm of straight pink heat-resistant fibre. Power's hair is shorter and much messier than this out of the bag, so plan on trimming it and roughing up the ends — which is easy on a $30 wig and terrifying on a $90 one. That is a real argument for buying the cheap one.
• Makima — the Wine Red Long Curly Wig, $29.74. Available in raspberry red, orange, rose red and a fourth shade, about 66 cm long with a fringe. Be clear-eyed about the compromise: this is a curly wig and Makima's hair is straight and braided into a low ponytail. It is heat-resistant fibre, so a low-heat straightening pass and a braid gets you most of the way, but it is a styling project, not a drop-in match. We would rather tell you that now than have it arrive as a surprise.
• Denji — nothing screen-accurate in stock. We do not currently carry a short blond wig that looks like Denji, and pretending otherwise would waste your money. The good news is that Denji is the one character in the cast who is frequently cosplayed with the wearer's own hair: short, messy, no ponytail, no unusual length. Do I Need Horns for a Power Cosplay?

Power without horns reads as "girl with pink hair". Horns are the single highest-value accessory in this whole guide, and again we would rather be straight with you about what we stock: the closest live option is the Antelope Horn Gothic Devil Horn Headband at $14.99 — black, ridged, resin, roughly 18 cm long on a fabric headband. Power's horns are shorter, paler and blunter than that. Two honest ways to use it: wear it as a stylised, darker take on Power, or trim and paint the resin to a cream tone before the con. Where Do the Shirt and Tie Come From?

From your wardrobe, mostly — and that is the honest answer, not a dodge. A plain white button-down and black trousers you already own are more accurate than a costume-shop approximation, and they fit you properly, which no imported costume set can promise. We do not stock a licensed Public Safety uniform set, so if you see one advertised as "official", check who is selling it.

The one uniform piece we do carry is the College Style Tie at $25.00, which comes in red, green, blue and yellow. Useful to know precisely because of what it is not: there is no black in that range, and Public Safety ties are black. It is the right shape for school-uniform cosplay generally — and a genuinely good pick for a Jujutsu Kaisen or JK-uniform build from our cosplay costumes collection — but for Chainsaw Man, wear the black tie you own.

How Do I Size a Cosplay Wig?

Wigs are the one cosplay category where sizing anxiety is mostly misplaced, and knowing why saves you a return. Almost every synthetic cosplay wig, including all of the ones above, is built on an adjustable cap with elastic straps and hooks inside — you tighten it to your head rather than picking a size. What actually matters:

1. Your own hair has to disappear underneath. Long hair needs to be braided flat and pinned, or capped with a wig cap, before the wig goes on. This is the most common reason a wig "does not fit" — it fits, but there is a bun under it.
2. Heat-resistant fibre means low heat, not any heat. The fibre in these wigs takes a straightener or curling wand on a low setting. Follow the care notes on the individual product page rather than treating it like human hair.
3. Cut conservatively, and cut it dry. Fringes on synthetic fibre do not grow back. Trim less than you think, and check the length against your eyebrows before the second pass.
4. Costumes are a different story. Anywhere you buy a costume rather than a wig, cosplay sizing runs to Asian charts and typically one to two sizes smaller than US high-street labels. Measure chest, waist, hips and height and read the centimetre chart on that specific product page — never order "the size I usually wear".

What If It Does Not Work Out?

A Chainsaw Man build is more forgiving than most here — if the wig is late, the shirt and tie are already in your wardrobe — but a wig you intend to cut and restyle deserves the earlier date.
